This week scouts had 2 activities running. Whittling and map work, specifically contour lines.
WHITTLING
After a chat about knife laws and a reminder on knife safety, scouts were challenged to whittle butter knives. However, somehow there appeared to be more pointy spears 🤔😂
MAP CONTOUR LINES
A session ran by Joan teaching the importance of knowing the contours on a map when planning any hikes or expeditions. Then a practical task using modelling clay to create models of Slievanorra.
