MP speaks up for Scouting
In her Commons speech for International Women’s Day, Mary Glindon, Labour MP for North Tyneside, spoke about the positive effects of Scouting in her community and why she is a local Scouting ambassador.
Mrs Glindon became a local ambassador for Northumberland Scouts after visiting a new scout group in Longbenton, at St Stephen’s RC primary school. The headteacher, Stephen Fallon, was working with the scouts to promote positive citizenship and help address antisocial behavior in the community. The MP saw first-hand the positive benefits of Scouting in her constituency and the difference it had made to the community.
