Beavers Chinese New Year

Tonight Beavers were doing more work on their world badge. A Chinese themed evening. We started off with a movement activity to warm up, moving around the hall imitating zodiac animals as they were called out. Some very scary dragons and nice quiet mice.

Then, as it’s the Year of the Tiger, we played catch the tiger’s tail, a tag game where a beaver wears a tigers tail and tries to catch all the beavers. However, if a beaver caught the tigers tail they became the tiger and the chase began anew 🐯

Some Chinese calligraphy and a chopstick challenge. In their lodges they had to transfer as much pasta as possible from small bowls to their large lodge bowl using only chopsticks. Four lodge stars to yellow lodge (73 pasta), 3 stars to red lodge (37), 2 stars to blue lodge (36) and 1 star to green lodge (20)

Lastly, time to taste some Chinese food to finish off the night. πŸ‡¨πŸ‡³πŸ…πŸ€πŸ‡πŸ“πŸ‚πŸŽπŸ–πŸ•πŸπŸ’πŸπŸ‰
