Cubs had amazing time back in first proper outdoor camp. We started we the biggest challenge – tent set up in strong wind. Followed buy flag making, backwoods cooking, fire starting, hiking and loads more of fun. And of course you can’t have a camp without smores. So many memories were made

Tonight cubs visited Community Rescue centre. We learnt how to use life jackets, searched for missing person, used walkie-talkies and found all about the amazing work volunteer rescue team does.
Cubs had an amazing trip to Rathlin Island. We had some laughs and squeals on ferry. We hiked over 4 miles to RSPB Seabird centre were we saw puffins, fulmars, razorbills and many more birds. Cubs had a chance to visit gift shop and enjoy local chippy The Hungry Seal.
This week cubs enjoyed a mini hike in Springwell forest. We’ve seen lots of slugs and some lovely chihuahua pups. Now off to more hikes with preparation to our Rathlin trip.

This week cubs work on their skills. We learned how to iron, make bed, brew some tea, set table, peel some veg and change light bulbs. They all shoud be great help around house from now on 😉

- In this years Cubs Olympics five teams were competing to win – Cool Cubs, Cub Land, Americans, Scoutland and Jamiverse. Javelin, hammer throw, shot put ice cube boblsed and many more fun games were played. We had lots of fun and so many cubs had a chance to stay overnight for the first time
- This year so far we have baked, done some art and played lots of interesting games
Despite bad weather forcast Cubs cad great fun in our Spooky forest adventure. It all startet with pumpkin searh followed by carving, some fun games and spooky treasure hunt around dark forest. Good old baked potatoes with beans, cheese and sausages to top it all 😋
Wednesday night cubs enjoyed Pack Forum talking through ideas for badge work as well as playing some games to strengththeir teamwork. They also were sorted into their sixies – packs


Cubs Bird Box Project
Cubs have started a fantastic DIY project – Building Bird Boxes. We measured out our building materials. We used saws (under adult supervision) to star to prep for assembly. Next week we’ll continue to work on them using more tools.
Wednesday night cubs learned all about Bike Maintenance. We used bike pumps and spanners. After testing their bikes they all had fun ride around car park. We also practiced Grand Howl and invested our new Cub.
