Some of our Beavers attended our pirate themed sleepover at the weekend, unfortunately a few missed out due to illness 😢 Get well soon!
On arrival, Beavers chose their pirate bandanas, got some tattoos and split into 2 teams. They got into their pirate ships and chose their team names…Golden Chickens and Arrrrbanarrrs!
Some competitive games – walking the plank to rescue the crews parrot and cannonball attack. Then a game of captains coming. Time for a craft to chill where they all made pet parrots. Tents up then hotdogs and a wee bun for a bedtime snack. Some colouring, looking at pirate themed library books and free time before hitting the tents, although actual sleep took a while. 🥱
On Sunday after breakfast it was time to pack up before watching our matinee movie, The Pirates, in an adventure with scientists, in our shed cinema with popcorn and crisps. Back into the hall to complete our pirate escape room/puzzle treasure hunt! They were searching for items, cracking codes and unscrambling letters to make words. Once they solved all the puzzles they were able to retrieve their loot from their treasure chests. They shared their booty of gold chocolate coins, gold biscuit bars, pirate slap bands, haribo, mini compasses and inflatable swords. Finally some all out sword fights followed by pirates blind man’s buff.
Well done to everyone but especially seven first time campers. You all did so well!! Also a shout out to David, Lizzie and Alphie for helping Beaver leaders to make props for the sleepover 👏🏻
